About Loch Lomond Celebrants

We, Laura and John, have trained as Independent Civil Celebrants.

We officiate at ceremonies for all faiths and none, with or without religion. We are not Humanists, who only offer completely non-religious ceremonies. We undertook an intensive training course at Malvern, in Worcestershire, to achieve the NOCN (National Open College Network) Qualification. (www.nocn.org.uk)

My career includes many years in social work, and I achieved a University Degree. I also provided, as part of a team, interactive training for local authorities. I have experience of working with people from all walks of life and do people centred voluntary work. I enjoy going to the gym, and the local folk group. Musical theatre is another interest, as is reading biographies, romantic fiction, and gripping thrillers.

I was involved in the passenger transport industry for many years, gaining a Transport Manager’s certificate from Oxford University. I worked with both passengers and employees, their needs and complaints at times being very complex. However, I truly enjoyed coach touring as well as office work. I also did interactive training for local authorities. My hobbies include driving, having gained membership of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, reading James Bond style novels, going to the theatre, voluntary work, and exercising at the gym. I am also a member of the local folk club.

As Loch Lomond Celebrants, we have been honoured to conduct ceremonies for a wide range of families and individuals, including families from as far away as Africa, Australia and Canada, and various counties of England.

We have also been entrusted with unaccompanied Ashes from Australia, to provide a respectful and dignified farewell, in line with their relatives’ wishes.

We look forward to hearing from you. Let’s discuss how we can help create a unique ceremony for you, to celebrate the memorable milestones in your life.
